Dear Diary,
I had an early morning shoot and then slept all afternoon.
I asked to borrow my character’s motorbike so I can practice tomorrow on my day off; it turned out to be quite a feat to get home on it as I had NO licence, NO registration, NO id, no nothing and I kept running into cops. I’d get off, turn the motor off, pretend I was waiting for someone and talked on my cell and wait till the cops would fuck off. Then I’d ride a few blocks more till the next bunch of cops. In the end I gave up and I WALKED the darn thing to my place. It was so hot and stuffy and I had skipped shower in the morning as I had woken up late. Yes, I was stink-EH! I fainted on the couch as soon as I got home and woke up when it was finally night.

Dear Diary,
It was my day off today and I went to buy tools from the hardware store. Paint, screwdrivers and other manly stuff.
I discovered a new eatery with s
uch good grub; Body Fuel. It fuelled a gaseous bonanza at the store earlier on. I also bought a gardenia plant and a lot of candles. A pocket knife too. I wish I could finish this fucking film in four weeks instead of 10. I hate signing my life away to ANY motherfucker. On Monday I’m testing for a new feature for October.
I drank too much green tea again and now I’m all jittery…
damn, Ektoras and Tanya ordered take out and i gulped down a plate of french fries. damn..

Day.2
Better. A short day, I only had two scenes so I was home 4 hours later.
It rained a lot today but there was an OK atmosphere on the set as everyone is getting to know each other.

Dammit, I’m sure there is something I should be doing;
I can’t remember what it is.
Something needs my immediate attention
but WTF is it?!

I can’t concentrate.

D.D.
shooting starts this coming Monday for more than 10 weeks.
Scared, excited.
Day 1 is so loaded with tough scenes.
All of them in a crazy order; one from the very beginning of the story, two from the middle and two from near the end. I have to commit to certain decisions (stylistically, character choices, etc) as Day1 affects my entire journey through the film and I will have to abide to those decisions. The set is beautiful. It’s a decadent pizza parlor near Syndagma Sq.
Gawd the butterflies in my stomach.

Dear Diary,
It’s been a crazy and tiring week and a half.
My time is officially not my own anymore and it will be so for the next 10 weeks. We start shooting Delivery on May 26th and finish mid August. Fittings, rehearsals, meetings, motorbike lessons, haircuts, screen tests, sleepless nights, angst and a lot of excitement!

It’s so cool to shoot a film. Mid-August I start rehearsals at the National Theater and in October I’ll be shooting another feature. I do hate it when someone else has complete control over my life and my time; it’s the one thing I hate about my job. However it *does* get me out of the apartment.

A beautiful house in a village. Among trees and with a garden. Perfect. We’ll be so happy there.

Dear Diary,
I’m partial to xxx actress Samantha Strong. She has the best sneer and blasè demeanor and her acting is somewhat detached and wonky and a bit robotic, which I find fascinating and impactful – BOO to good actors, yawn. My favorite of her movies is The Heiress. Shot on video, entirely on a soundstage, in absurdly cheap sets, some of which were actually painted backdrops of interiors. She wore a stiff white leather business suit with huge shoulder pads and had BIG, backcombed, frizzy, matted hair. She looked positively regal. When she first started she used to have a fuller figure, then later she was fashion model thin, perfectly stunning either way. I met her when she was a feature dancing tour, with a stint in Athens. I saw it advertised on a cab and I investigated; it was at a strip club in some dodgy outskirts of the city. Never been to a strip club before and I was petrified going by myself but in typical form, scared or not I went ahead with the mission.
Samantha was very nice and somewhat reserved; She walked by my table and I said something girly like “Hi! I love your work!” to which she exclaimed “- Oh my god you speak English” and promptly sat at my table where she spent the entire night while we chatted away. She didn’t hustle a dime out of me which would be totally understandable, this was her place of work, but we just talked and talked.. When the club owner growled at her (and me) for blatantly ignoring all of the other customers, (who kept staring at us all night trying to make sense why she’d spend all this time with a gawky, awkward weirdo), she grabbed my hand and led me to this exposed shower area in the club, sat me in front of it, got naked and took a shower in front of me, while the other men watched. I died of embarrassment. Then she went backstage to freshen up and brought me a t-shirt which she signed for me as a gift. I left at dawn, when they had turned on the lights.
She has retired from x-rated films now. I hope she’s doing well. Samantha is a super star.

Dear Diary,
Had a meetin’ today where I was introduced to the ADs and some other people. The hairstylist luckily decided that I had done an excellent job cutting my hair so they didn’t cut it any more. I hate other people cutting my hair.

I went for walkies with Andreas to the Royal Gardens.
We ate sandwiches and tyropita and drank milkshakes.
it was a beautiful day, sunny but not too hot.
Andreas will direct a great script he’s written and I’ll be in it.
I’m watching one of my favorite movies, The Cactus Flower..
